Celebrate Missouri State's 112th Birthday

Today marks the 112th anniversary of the founding of State Normal School #4, which later became Missouri State University. As an alum you can share your love for MSU in many ways, both near and far.

  • Wish your alma mater a happy birthday on social media.
  • Show your love for MSU by purchasing a Be a Bear T-shirt. Proceeds help students in emergency situations.
  • Join our celebration on March 21 at Plaster Student Union from 11:00 a.m.-2 p.m. We'll have games, prizes and a chance to snap birthday selfies with President Smart and Boomer.

2017 T-shirt on sale

The annual Be a Bear T-shirt is now on sale for $19.05. Student Spencer Whaley is a senior at MSU who designed the 2017 T-shirt. He says it's about always being a Bear, "Anytime. Anywhere. Be A Bear was (about) finally finding a place at Missouri State."

Proceeds from the T-shirt sales go to support students in emergencies, like Aly Gatewood. Discover how the Emergency Scholarship Fund kept her in school.
